Canon Powershot D10, dogs, swimming, under water camera
I got a new underwater camera for my birthday! Its a Canon Powershot D10. LOVE IT! Its 98% just like my daily use Canon Powershot, but this new one can go UNDER WATER!!! I played around with it in our pool with our dogs to discover the settings and such. Pretty cool! It even has a flash!! Can’t wait to take it on my trip to the Galapagos Islands next year!! 🙂

bird feeder, DIY, suet, tufted titmouse, wire, wood
We’ve had this book , The Backyard Bird Feeder’s Bible, for quite some time. I pick it up occassionally & look through it for ideas for feeders or recipes for suet to help attract different birds to our yard. We have a nature photography blog if you’d like to see what kind of birds I’m talking about.
So this weekend I finally got motivated to make this feeder for the Tufted Titmouse that keeps coming to our mealworm feeder (that we had out for the Bluebirds). Haven’t seen either of the two Titmouses visit my new feeder, but hopefully they will soon! All supplies were stuff we had lying around the garage/yard. Cost= $0.00 –who wouldn’t like THAT??

birds, february, feeder, Houston, ice, storm
You would think that title would be a party announcement. Uh, yeah, no. Houston was to get a big SNOW STORM, but only got an ice storm on Friday, Feb 4th. Why don’t people learn? SLOW DOWN in bad weather! Let alone, you’ve NEVER driven in ice, so DON”T drive when it’s iced. All the kids were sad that they didn’t get to play in the snow. Oh well, there’s always next time.

bird, Brazos Bend State Park, nature, photography, Texas
I went w/ my dh Saturday morning on a photography road trip to a great photography spot, Brazos Bend State Park . He is the “pro” photographer to me, but in his photography group world, he is an intermediate. Check out his great photos of our trip at his photo blog .
He likes taking bird photos, I do too, but I also have the creative eye to see “other” aspects of nature.

I just snap my Canon point & shoot camera, I hate having to ‘think’ of what settings to use. So as I was waiting for him to take all his ‘pro’ photos, I took mine. Cute little puffy bird -I don’t remember all the names -I need that space in my brain for other things! LOL!
Here is my ‘creative’ eye, this was a path we were walking down around 40 acre Lake at the park.

When we got home & looked at my photos on the computer, dh liked this photo, so you might see it on his blog too!
